Dinah Dietrich

Dinah Dietrich, 70, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital of non-COVID-19 related causes. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Bennington College and had a Masters from U-Mass. Her greatest love was writing poetry.

Dinah left behind many dear friends and colleagues. We want to remember and honor her here. Writing was Dinah's lifelong passion. She was an active member of several online writing communities. No matter what else was happening, Dinah kept writing. She studied poetry at Bennington College and at UMass Amherst. In 2015, her poetry chapbook, Paper Cranes was published by Headmistress Press. She also had work published in Lavender Review and in the anthology, A Slant of Light: Contemporary Women Writers of the Hudson Valley. One of her pieces was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Dinah was working on a memoir and another chapbook at the time of her passing. Dinah was well known in Collage Social Club, and she wrote for their Reach Out newsletter for 23 years. Dinah loved meeting friends, going out to Blue Ribbon Diner, and going to writing events. She approached life with a sense of wonder and a big smile. Dinah was well loved and will be dearly missed.
