Douglas Grabowski

Douglas R. Grabowski, Sr., 52, of Beach Park Road, Clinton. died Wednesday, (December 5, 2001) at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Charon (Stanislawski) Grabowski. He was the son of Lottie (Shier) Grabowski of Schenectady, NY and the late Richard A. Grabowski Sr., and was born January 16, 1949 in Schenectady, NY. Mr. Grabowski served in the U.S. Army Reserve for six years. He was a graduate of University of New Haven, where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for being an All-American Golfer. He worked at the Packtor Company in Hamden for 34 years. He was a member of PIICC, ASHRAE, and numerous other professional organizations. He was also involved in the Clinton Little League, Clinton Touchdown Club, and the American Legion Post #103. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Douglas R. Grabowski, Jr. of St. Petersburg. FL, and Jason W. Grabowski of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Daniel B. Grabowski of Cape Coral, FL, and Richard A. Grabowski, Jr. of Fairfax Station, VA; and two sisters, Audrey B. Ketchum of Charlton, NY, and Denise F. Hitchcock of East Swanzey, NH. Eight nephews, a niece, and a great niece also survive him.

Doug was the nicest guy.  Great sense of humor....especially in Driver's Ed.
