I grew up living near Jimmy and we played together all the time. He taught me how to climb a tree! He had a pug dog named Peggy and we just loved her. She snorted and we always laughed at her! We were a tough foursome: me, Jimmy, Lisa Schroedel and my brother Jeff. We spent a lot of time together combing Kronenwetter, going to Sophie's house, climbing trees and walking in the 'firepath' and going to each other's houses. That was when we were in elementary school. His tough side developed during our later years, but I got glimpses of the real Jimmy, which wasn't tough at all.
I remember how sad he was when his dog died and said he had to bury her by himself. That was when we were about 15 or 16. Whenever I see a pug dog, I think of Jimmy. I wish we hadn't lost him so young.
