Kathleen S. "Kathie" "Kate" Schroedel, 42, Wausau, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at her home.

Kathie was born June 1, 1966, in Honolulu, the youngest daughter of the late Stanley Coates and Dorothy (Golla) Coates.

Kathie married Michael Schroedel on Oct. 7, 1995, at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau.

Kathie graduated from NTC in 1992 with a surgical technician degree. She was also employed as a front desk manager at the Lodge at Cedar Creek and as a leadperson for Crystal Finishing Systems, Schofield. Kathie's greatest joys were her children and the creative process of designing and making greeting cards.

In addition to her husband, Michael, and her mother, Dorothy, survivors include her children, Christopher W. Coates, Madison, Madalyn M., Alison A. and Thomas H. Schroedel, all of Weston; brothers and sister, Michael Coates, Weston, Patrick Coates, Rothschild, Timothy (Rosie) Coates, Wausau, and Melanie (Rick) Leonard, Colorado.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the to Mike Schroedel family.
