Bart T. Bosman

Bart T. Bosman

Bart T. Bosman, born July 4, 1969, died unexpectedly Friday, April 27, 2007.

Bart graduated from D.C. Everest High School in Schofield in 1988. He was an exceptional athlete who lettered in football, track and wrestling. During Bart's high school career, he participated in state meets his junior year and medalled with third place honors his senior year. Bart will long be missed by his high school friends as he continued to participate in the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl.

Bart graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where he was a member of the wrestling team. The highlight of his athletic career was wrestling in Nationals while in La Crosse. Bart was the head wrestling coach at Onalaska High School for one year. He graduated from La Crosse with a degree in recreation management, which assisted him in his employment with the Milwaukee Athletic Club.

Bart volunteered to run the youth football program for the intercity YMCAs of Milwaukee and later ran the youth and adult fitness programs. Bart knew he could make a difference in children's lives. He was the assistant coach for Muskego High School wrestling team, and he held numerous positions through his tenure at the north central, northside and southtown YMCAs. For three years he was the branch director for Milwaukee Southtown YMCA. Just recently, he was promoted to executive director for the new branch at Centennial Hills YMCA in Las Vegas.

Bart loved participating in ultimate Frisbee leagues in Milwaukee. He organized summer wrestling programs for the Milwaukee area youths. He played golf and was a passionate Green Bay Packers fan. He always wore his No. 15 Jersey to game days as he was named after his hero, Bart Starr. You often would find Bart, co-workers and friends attending Bucks and Brewers games.

Bart will be deeply missed by his wife, Lisa, and their 17-month-old daughter, Morgan. As a child, Bart's mother, Jeanne, introduced him to a walk looking for "God's little treasures." Often Bart would take Morgan in the Wauwatosa neighborhood for these special strolls searching for God's treasures.

Bart was the adored son of Thomas and Jeanne; and cherished brother of Heather (Andy) Becker. He will be missed dearly by his grandmother, Dorothy Panther; his aunts and uncles, Judy (Bob) Meyer, Bob (Kim) Panther, Doug (JoAna) Panther and Marcia (Frank) Ivy; dear son-in-law of Robert and Mary Krautkraemer; and brother-in-law to Amy and David (Janice) Krautkraemer. He was the best uncle to his nieces, Emma, Isis and Kaya; and nephews, Reynald, Daniel and Devyn.

Bart is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Ethel Bosman of Baldwin, Wis.; his grandfather, Raymond Panther of Waterloo, Iowa; along with his special buddy, "Scheister," his cat; and his many tropical fish.

A celebration of his life will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007, at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W. North Ave., Brookfield, with a time of sharing to follow. A visitation will also take place from 10 a.m. until the Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church, 122nd and West Center St., Wauwatosa, followed by graveside services at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Bosman Family Trust for Morgan's education would be appreciated.

Bart pursued his dreams, lived life to the fullest, and had a dynamic spirit for his life, his family and his Lord Jesus.
