In Memory

Alan Ray

Alan was tragically taken in the mid to late 80's.  It was quite a shock to all that knew him, he is survived by his Mother.

I was fortunate to know Alan at Pueblo, he was always involved in the sports teams and one of the hunks at school, as well as at Saguaro.
I was fortunate to see Alan a few years later after High School graduation at Prudential; he worked there for a short time. I think he had passed on a little after he had left Prudential (1989?) and I feel sorry I cannot remember the year, I'll check the trophy I rec'vd.
We had an office softball team, which was like the "Bad News Bears", except for teamates like Alan. I was so happy to see him on the team, it reminded me when we were at Pueblo and all of the cute guys let me play flag football with them.
It turned out we won the championship for our office that year and it is a memory I shall remember forever.

You are missed Alan, hope a game is going on in heaven; may God Bless you !!

I spent many good times with Alan. We used to have these stupid car races. He would chase me in my Trans-Am but he couldn't catch me. One time I took off in a neighborhood and noticed quickly that he was not behind me. I went back to look, and he had taken a corner to sharp and went through a yard that unfortunately had a two foot brick wall all around it. Being the great guy that he was, he went to the homeowner's door and took full responsibility. My best friend was Debbie Holland and Alan kept bugging me to fix them up. It took me about six months, but I finally convinced Debbie what a great guy he was, and they dated exclusively for a couple of years. He was so shy around girls, but always a gentleman.
He will be missed!!!

I had met Alan in 7th grade at Pueblo. He was my very first crush, and it was a BIG one!! Quite a few of us lived in the townhouses on 82nd Street, across from Saguaro...Jeff Bellew and his beautiful family, my brother Rick and I, the Kalfus family, the Anthony's, the Wiggins family, the Gibsons, etc. Because Alan and Jeff Bellew were best friends, Alan would hang out with us on a daily basis at the townhouse clubhouse (in addition to Bill Neiderer and a gazillion other guys), where we would swim and play pool and ping pong for hours on end in the summertime...plenty of time for me to just gush over Alan while I was beating him at ping pong (and he was good at it!) He was always kind to me and we all had a great time together. I last saw Alan when he was an insurance agent, and he just happened to be MY insurance agent for awhile, but that was many years ago. I was quite saddened to find that someone I knew, someone I had such strong teenaged (silly) feelings for, someone I had laughed with and eaten with and swam with and smoked with and played spin the bottle with (and actually got to kiss, by the way ;), could be gone. I rather miss my teenaged family, and he was a dear, daily part of it. You are truly missed, Alan. God bless you my friend.
