Oh! one other important thing comes to mind. Those of you that "believe"....could you all ask the Lord to make a decision about Gregs brother Pat and Prestons new job.

Peace

Super windy and 55 degrees here in Vegas today! Hope it's less windy in the Windy City for you Lisa.

Lance - can't believe Mr. Huggins was your least favorite. He was my 2nd favorite after Mr. Mollman. I had him for Science and he would throw erasers at the boys who fell asleep in class!

Cayce- Huggins was very erratic and just not a very good teacher at that time. Talking at kids is not an education. I think he may have had more bad days that year than good. Now after 30 some years who hasn't had a time like that?

I guess we were in different classes. I don't remember him throwing erasers. I do remember a big temper tantrum about our class science projects-made horrible snide comments about each one. Unfounded. Maybe some were better than others but you just don't talk that way to students. I said something got written up or whatever it was called then.

The principal ( I don't remember his name although at a later date I threw up all over his car-(remember that Shane?) told me that Huggin's wife was very ill and that we should be understanding..... OK I get it - and our grades?

Reading these threads does bring back a lot of memories from Mohave and Saguaro years!

Lance's account of the infamous blind date is pretty accurate. That seemed like the longest night of my life! The things we did for our friends!

Memories of going to the "Scottsdale 6" drive-in. Sneaking in, in the back of someone's station wagon...

Lance and his "harem"! What ever happened to Denise S.?

My Dad offering any of my friends a beer when they came over, and only one person ever took him up on it! His name starts with... LANCE!!

Jumping off the roof of the house into the pool at night...

Christmas caroling when it was far too cold out, and not knowing all the words...

Going TP'ing with Lance and company. Remember going to Kris (sp?) Roth's house and borrowing TP from their bulk supply? What about the pool party at her house when she got a bit tipsy and you (Lance) had to hod her up in the pool so she wouldn't go under... She was grounded for the entire summer. Anyone remember the Ex-Lax brownies...??? I bet Linda remembers some of these events too. One final comment about summer pool parties - Linda's bikini! Enough said!

Going "water ballooning". Lance, remember the night you twisted my arm to go along and we were launching the H2O balloons at cars & bike riders as I recall? If I remember correctly, a cop car pulled up and we proceeded to take the back yard tour of the neighborhood to escape. We launched over several back yard fences and some how got away. I had some minor cuts and bruises, but everything seemed to heal in a few days back then, not in months like now!

Good times!

Chip- Thanks I wondered how you would react to that disclosure. But I thought-heck I have been answering for it for 30 some years...time to let a little light in.

Honestly it was one of the most hilarious moments of my growing up. You risked all just so I could have some snuggle time with Alison and a few kisses. You are a bud.

Hmm maybe those occult water ballon expeditions helped me prepare for living in the developing world. I don't really remember twisting your arm too much except that blind date.

I think that time we shot down Plaza off of 86th, wheeled into the Forgey's, ended up in the Cavanaugh's back yard minus our bikes- cops went by - I got some sodas, we sat with Oscar my Basset. After a bit we went and got our bikes-left them in the front of my house and crashed in the little house in the yard-.

Who was on our soccer team Chip? Anyone else remember or have a pic?

Chip's dad Larry was the Coach. And the beer offer is a metaphor. Larry has always been a great mentor-got an idea -go with it. Larry donated the equipment and Sara Story and I started the first hearing screening program for children in Paraguay in 1980.

As of last year -it is still going. And Larry's help continued in Venezuela with Ciudad de los Ninos in '82 (on of the few places that country's idiot president has not affected).

'nuff for tonight

Unfortunately I don't remember who all was on the soccer team. We played a few years. I do remember coaching the young kids with you Lance, over at the elementary school (Kiva?). It was like herding cats, but great fun for all!

Here's another memory of Scottsdale 6 - Fritz the Cat! Wasn't our pal Tracy there too??

Mimi -- Did you mean Lisa C. (me) or Lisa S. when you mentioned Sally's number. If it's me that would be great, you could post it directly to me instead of the forum.

Lisa S.- sorry, caught a cold and still haven't scanned more pix of 10 yr mixer, etc. but will do this weekend hopefully.

Just noticed how many folks are still missing, and how the lists of our class are split between Classmate Profiles --some of which don't have any contact info-- and Missing Classmates. What's the dif? if no one knows how to reach them?
A few months back I was on Classmates.com and saw more of our folks that aren't here yet (like Matt White - i think) -- Anyone tracking them down to let them know about the reunion or this site?
Just wondering -- sorry I'm not volunteering to do the cross check. I'm feeling challenged to keep up with this forum thingy : ) and all the ensuing email and phone conversations that arise as result.

Mighty fun tho --- odd to think it's taken this evolution in communication to bring people together again. And the waves that wash over us remembering our shared history -- rather sweet. I'm grateful...

Lisa C.,
What a beautiful sentiment. I have to agree. Although some of the folks are sometimes random, the memories have been wonderful.

Lance,
I'm sorry you barfed in the principal's car! Still laughing about that.

Mimi - yes, us desert rats are tougher from growing up here. I remember being at someone's house and BMX bike being ridden off the roof into the pool too. It was probably Larry Golanka or Chris Byron?! Those boyz could jump their bikes! I think I have an old pic of LG somewhere when we used to ride in a dirt lot near Granite Reef and McDonald next to the bank.

Well - I've got "the cold" and it's kicking my butt. I'd love to go out on the Quad with Shane and Robert Sunday, but that might not be a great idea. It's hell to get old! Must rest...
