Sue was a great friend of mine since 6th grade. I first met her when she and her friend Jodi would walk around the block in front of my house. We all (Barb Terhaar, Jodi, Val Coppes, Teresa Smith, Patty Maddox and I) used to hang out at Val's house and talk about all of the guys we thought were FOXY!! I remember watching Welcome Back Kotter at Jodi's house one time with Sue and we laughed our heads off at this one episode...to this day I can't remember what episode it was, but I do remember it being so funny we laughed so long and hard we were crying, I think I almost peed my pants. We stayed friends all through high school and after. She was way too young to be taken from us. I think of Sue daily.
When Jodi moved (8th grade?) Sue and I became fast BFF's forever. We would make up stupid games in her pool on warm summer nights. We talked on the phone (no texting) for hours. We would play ping-pong in her garage. We went to Big Surf parties in the summer. We would "stalk" Cobra Guy at school. Sue was a gorgeous, 5'9", incredible friend, with the most beautiful auburn hair. She would always say "these are the best times of our lives". I would always think, "No way, I'm just getting started." She was absolutely right, and she was taken away too soon for me. I love you, Sue!
Sue was part of an unseparable group of friends. Val, Ruthie, Jody, Theresa, Patty and myself. We did everything together from 6th grade on... She was the most gentle soul. We had such fun times together. I miss her so very much. I was fortunate enough to see her a couple of days before she passed away, she was able to meet my daughter who was only a month old at the time. She was so at peace knowing that her time here was done.I love her and miss her.
