"Forty-seven years after making his last fastpitch plate appearance, 61-year-old Keith Molever was asked to fill in near the end for his daughter's team in the Flagstaff Adult Baseball League, a wood bat league. He lined a 2-2 pitch into the left-center gap for a clean hit, moving along his daughter who had walked. When a batter got a hit and Keith rounded third base as the ball got away a little near second base, he raced home, and slid creating a big cloud of dust, safe by a step, and the team held on to win by a few runs." Better than fantasy camp !
Also of interest is that the daughter, Kori Molever, is the only woman ever to play in the baseball league (8 seasons so far), and in the preceding week was subject of a feature story detailing this in the Flagstaff newspaper sports section. After the game noted above there was a follow up story the next week in the Flagstaff newspaper detailing the exploits of father-daughter combination Keith and Kori Molever. When Kori was 12, her Little Little League baseball team won the Phoenix Tournament of Champions, and a few years later her Desert Wolves softball team won the state championship."
