I knew Phil mainly from football & Track. Opening kickoff, our Freshman year against Moon Valley, game #3, we were running down the field having just kicked off the football. Phil was to my Left, the outside man on the Line, he said, "move over" to the right, so I moved over & soomeone from out of nowhere, blindsided me by roll blocking my Legs while running full speed. my head & helmet hit the ground behind the guy while he had my Legs locked, vertically. I snapped, tore & otherwise destroyed both of my knees simultaneously. my Life has never been the same.

Later, after graduation Phil ended up replacing me on the ASU soccer Club as a right full back, defense. same problem. I still had bad knees, so I was not very good. Phil, evidently, played soccer the same way he Lived Life. at Full Speed. he ran head long into the wooden goal supports at one game. I dont know the exact extent of his Injuries, but he ended up killing himself, from This head Injury.

He Lived Life at Full Speed. hell of a nice guy. was it Nude Toga or Nude Yoga? he didnt wear much for the graduation ceremony. he is definitely an Inspiration on how to Live Life full out.

Phil was always a kick. He'd come out to try and best me at tennis minutes before he had to go to baseball parctice. Stu Searing told me at the first reunion that he's been kicked in the head at a Rugby match and died. What a terrible loss. He was so athletic and did everything wrestling, football, baseball etc.
