Craig H. Friedman 55, of Scranton died Wednesday April 16th at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.  He is survived by his wife Stacey Frantz.

Craig was born on June 29, 1969 in Scranton son of Shirley Schwartz Friedman.  He was a graduate of the Scranton Central High School and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Penn State in Theater.

Craig was a wonderful father, husband, son, brother, cousin, and friend.  He was also a stellar part of the community. When he founded Craig Friedman Productions, he started out in theater production, but his impact grew far beyond that. Craig became a pivotal figure in the theater and dance communities in NEPA. His dedication to his craft helped elevate local theater, leaving a lasting mark on the industry.

Every person he encountered became more than just a colleague—they became lifelong friends. The men and women he mentored rose to the top of their professions, continuing his legacy by strengthening and inspiring theater communities across the country.

Craig’s dreams became a reality when he acquired Taney’s Costume Shop. There, he had the joy of working side by side with his children. Not everyone gets to turn their life's passion into their career, but Craig certainly did.

In his final days, he found peace at The Sacred Heart Hospice. His family extends their deepest gratitude to the hospice staff, whose care and compassion meant so much, in addition to the exceptional nurses and staff of Traditional Home Health who cared for him throughout all of his needs while at home. 

Craig is survived by his son, Benjamin and daughter, Isabella, His mother, Shirley. Brother, Nathan and wife Jo, and nieces Michelle and Abigail.

Burial was held in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery.
