Harold Godowski

January 4, 1999 Harold E. Godowski Jr., 52, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Monday in Moses Taylor Hospital after an illness. His widow is the former Elsie Schild.

A son of Sarah Eppley Godowski, Scranton, and the late Harold E. Godowski, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, where he studied business. He was a seaman first class with the Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Little Rock in the Mediterranean Sea. He had been employed in the grocery business for 35 years, most recently by Gerritys Supermarket.

Also surviving are a son, Brian, Scranton; a daughter, Anna Christina, Scranton; a stepson, Wayne Blakiewicz, Dupont; two brothers, Ronald, Moscow, and Jeffrey, Scranton; two sisters, Linda Nelson, Madisonville, and Sandy Davis, Taylor; uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

The funeral will be Friday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., with Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
