Marcia Manns

Marcia J. Manns of Scranton died Wednesday morning in Hospice Community Care in Dunmore following a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 24, 1948, in Scranton, daughter of the late Clifford J. and Ruth (Rebhorn) Manns, Marcia was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and received her bachelor's degree from Marywood University. She received a master's degree at the University of Scranton. She served as past president of the American Institute of Banking and as personnel director for Hendrick Manufacturing Co. in Carbondale. Marcia held teaching positions at Penn State and the McCann Business School.

All who were fortunate to have known Marcia and to be in her life were truly blessed. She was a true and loyal friend. Marcia loved her rose garden and her cats. A frequent traveler of Europe, she considered Vienna, Austria, her second home. She will be missed by everyone who was fortunate to know her.

Surviving are her sister, Suzanne Evans, Lititz; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1000 Taylor Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. David Searing, pastor. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements by the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home of Scranton.
