
Suzanne T. Spence, Washington, D.C., formerly of Jessup, died Saturday in Georgetown University Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Peckville, she was raised in Jessup and was the daughter of the late Roger L. and Mary Langan Spence. She graduated from St. Michael's Parochial School in Jessup, Central High School in Scranton and received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Marywood College. She lived in Washington most of her life and worked on Capitol Hill and was currently employed by the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives.
Suzanne was a loving sister who was very devoted to her nephew and his family. She truly enjoyed working at the NCFC and also enjoyed the company of her many close friends in Washington and Jessup.
Surviving are her sister, Sharon S. Hafner and husband, Pat, Tobyhanna; her nephew, Patrick S. Hafner and wife, Lara, and their two sons, Marc and Patrick, all of Connecticut; and cousins and friends.
She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Terrance.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in Queen of Angels Parish at St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Route 6, Blakely.
