Sheldon David Sunness passed away on July 29, 2022. He was born in Scranton, the son of Benjamin and Marian Kaufman Sunness. Sheldon graduated from the University of Pennsylavia and also attended Columbia University where he earned a Ph.D. in Political Science. A longtime resident of New York City, Sheldon was a free-lance writer who authored many magazine articles on sports and politics. He is survived by a brother Fred, Baltimore and a sister Rise Glasenberg, Toronto.

Sheldon and I were neighbors in the 400 block of Clay, and friendly for years. His love of baseball turned into a lifetime passion. Haven't seen Sheldon since Central, but he left good and friendly memories behind. His parents, and siblings were good people too Glad I knew them. May he rest in peace.
