
Leo C. Walsh passed away peacefully on Feb. 15, 2022, at Advent Health of Carrollwood in Tampa, Fla.
Born Aug. 30, 1947, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he was the son of the late Jerome Walsh and Ina Klingerman Walsh Esposito. A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, he relocated from Dalton, Pa, to Tampa, Fla. in 2016 after the passing of his wife, Linda (Darcy) Boyle-Walsh, on April 23, 2016. He attended the Univerity of Scranton where he earned both a bachelors and a masters degree. He spent his career working for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare as a social worker which culminated as the executive Director of the Wyoming County Assistance Office until his retirement in 2004.
He was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton, where he served as a deacon and a longtime member of the Dunmore Lions Club where he served as treasurer. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer, Sedillo and husband, Rodney, of Safety Harbor, Fla.; grandchildren, Wiley, Osborne, and Alexandra; and nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services with reception following will be conducted Friday, March 4, at 11 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 550 Madison Ave., Scranton, Pa. Internment will be conducted privately at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dunmore Lions Club, P.O. Box 391, Dunmore, PA 18512.
