After working for a while in Glen Cove (see profile), Ron left Long Island for the early stages of California's digital boom. He did well. Instead of staying in the business to do better and better, Ron pursued his dream of a life on the sea. 

He earned his captain's license and with his wife Jennie, he operated Park Place Excursions. People in the business, fishermen, and friends knew him as Captain Ron.
