Betty battled disability for several years and was finally taken by a brain tumor. She was a welcome part of her family life in Arizona until the end. Her husband, retired pilot Aroll Harnage, survives her along with her daughter Susan Harnage. 

Susan arranged Betty's memorial service, including pictures and reminiscences of Betty's years in Sea Cliff.
