I was so shocked and saddend when Nate Hedges called me to aprise me of Susan's condition when she was 1st diagnosed with it. I had just spoken to her a few weeks prior as I had been down Atlanta Rd. to go see my old house last year when I came out for my annual visit to see my Daughter, Grandsons, Son in law and Dad who are all living in Maryland. I was so surprised to see her shingle out by her office and as I looked thru our Senior yearbook I looked at the picture of her holding on to the tree branch and leaning out over the river with her mischevioush Angel/Devil smirk and remembered I was standing there when the pic was taken as I had gone over to visit RoseMary. So I called her office and she very graciously found the time to call me back and we talked for quite awhile, she was very humble (as always) when I told her of my surprise in seeing what profession she had gone into, I could almost hear her blush over the phone when I told her I had imagined she would be a model or actress, she thanked me for the compliment and we reminised awhile then she had to get back to her patients, but it was great spending some time communicating with her and being reminded of what a classy and thoughtful person she was for the entire time I knew her. Needless to say I was devestated when Nate called me and said things did not look good, and I could really sympathize with her family as my Mom at age 49 from the same disease, I offer my heartfelt condolences to all of them for their loss. Now on a lighter note if I could just get her little Sister to contact me so I could reminise with her for a while and thank her for all the joy and happiness she brought into my life in HS, congratulate her on her success in her life and remind her that she can probably still beat me at pool I would be very appreciative and content........so Judge please take the request and make contact with me, you would be making an old man very happy! In closing I am sure that Susan is enjoying her rest as the Beatles said in one of their songs (I believe from Abbey Road) "THE LOVE YOU TAKE IS EQUAL TO THE LOVE YOU MAKE" and for all of those of us who were fortunate enuf to have known her, We know she took ALOT of love with her as it was impossible to know her and not love her as a sister and a friend
