Damn, what were the circumstances of his death?

Scott was killed in a motorcycle accident at James Madison University our Freshman year in college. Scott was an awesome soccer and tennis player, a talented musician, and one of the nicest people on earth. He had a magnificent smile and was gifted in art. Articulate, I remember a lot of things he wrote in our senior English class. There is a memorial brick for Scott from the Class of 1973 on the walkway to the track behind SHS. We have missed you, Scott, and we have not forgotten you! Danna (Swain)

Scott was one of my best friends as we grew up in Woodside Manor along with Mike, Lewis, Alan, Ray, T.L. and others. Although there were times we wanted to choke him for the decisions he made - there was a little darker side to Scott - he was always a devoted friend. I think of Scott often and wonder what he would have been doing if not for that terrible accident. I miss him and can see him in the soccer goal to this day.
I cherish those memories of the overnight Monopoly games, camping trips, golfing across from his house, endless basketball games - the memories go on and on.
Those were special times.
There are not many people in our lives that leave a lasting impression - one that still burns after 35 years.

I remember doing a radio show with Scott and Leslie Mulligan for our speech and drama class, during our senior year. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed that show very much. They were both terrific guys.

I' ve got to add to Ron's comments.  Scott and I lived 5 houses apart in Woodside Manor and there was too many days we didn't play together growing up.  We had a lot of good times growing up in the neighborhood with all our classmates.  I remember Scott came home from college the weekend before me was killed and he came to see me and it was a hard blow when I heard of his death.  Scott was a good friend for a lot of years and I still visit his grave from time to time to let him know what is going on in my life.  He left a lasting impression in my life.
