RE: Class of 72 Reunion Posted Saturday, February 11, 2012 09:37 PM Hi mates, Gave ,Chuck, the info on the Relief Pitcher and Legion. Mike's good with Friday night. He'll help provide some music. It'll be fun. A cab ride there and back would worth considering! The Legion is available . Clean, the right size, and costs $300 for the hall and $75 for cleaning. Includes dance floor and bar access(cheap drinks) and can be partitioned off for privacy. They have a very good cook that could give us price on food once we tell her what we want. I talked with ,Bud Thomson, the post commander. They are eager to have us! Hope this helps. Tim

RE: Class of 72 Reunion Posted Saturday, February 11, 2012 10:01 PM Tim...... I passed your info along to the other organizers and it was a big help. Susan, Craig and Bill were previously looking into venues for us, so tonight they actually went to the Legion, Best Western and Shilo to have a look at them and get any additional information. Susan is the only one that has given any feed back and she seems to favor the Legion. Though we haven't voted on a Friday night venue yet, I'm pretty sure that most of us are in favor of giving the reigns to Mike on this one. I just hope he has plenty of insurance 'cause we're gonna fuck his place up!!! LOL!!!
I am going to go into your profile right now and change your status to "Admin". Since you seem interested in becoming one of our organizers this will give you access to our "Admin Forum" where we've been sharing our thoughts. The next time you log in to this site, you should notice this option in the menu on the left side of your screen. Go in and read back on all the discussions we've had so far to get up to speed (this might take you a while!).

RE: Class of 72 Reunion Posted Sunday, February 12, 2012 06:17 PM It is Sunday Night the the 12th of February. and the committee has visited the potential sites. We thank Bill, Craig and Susan for their hard work. There is a motion being discussed to commit to the Legion Hall in Seaside as the site for the SHS Class of 72 Reunion on Saturday the 15th of September. This motion is up for discussion, feelings? |

RE: Class of 72 Reunion Posted Monday, February 13, 2012 07:05 AM FYI..... One of our classmates sent me an email and doesn't like the Legion. I guess she didn't realize that she should be posting here for everyone to see. Anyway, she remembers the atmosphere as not being good enough for our reunion. From what Susan says it's not bad at all and we will have the opportunity of decorating and making our own atmosphere just by us all showing up!

RE: Class of 72 Reunion Posted Tuesday, February 14, 2012 06:58 PM The Class Reunion Organizing Committee has selected the American Legion Club in Seaside for our 40 Year Class Reunion. The date is September 15th 2012. The site selection committee of Bill Eddy, Susan Palmer and Craig Weston all visited the Legion, (as well as the Shiloh, the Best Western) last weekend and all reported favorably as to the site. They have done a remodel lately and all spoke highly of its suitability. As always there will be some who are disappointed in the selection, but if you realize that the site is really not that important, the reunion memories are made by the people who attend and the energy they create. (Heck we could have the event at the restrooms at the turnaround and had a good time.) The 35th reunion was a terrific event and created lifelong memories for all who attended. We learned a great deal from that and have a winning formula for the 40th. We are still in the development stage for all that will occur in September. Many more decisions will have to made. What we are planning right now is a Class of 72 Exclusive event on Saturday at the Legion. The Friday event is still being discussed, but we are leaning towards a rather casual all class gathering at the Mike McClures place, (The Relief Pitcher?) Your thoughts, opinions, and participation are needed. Please let us know how we can make this one of the best memories of your life. That is our goal, and we can make it happen with your help. Please post a response. |

RE: Class of 72 Reunion Posted Thursday, February 16, 2012 09:43 PM I am glad to have all of you planning our reunion venues. I am very supportive of both the Relief Pitcher for Friday and the Legion on Saturday. I will also be more prepared to help after March as I am in the middle of planning an event for my mom at the Legion on March 3rd that will probably have 200 attendees (any one want to help me on this one?) Thanks to all of you for your work. I look forward to reuniting again .... it will be fun. |

RE: Class of 72 Reunion Posted Friday, February 24, 2012 02:03 PM Mike McClures palce is The Relief Pitcher (corrected ) Restaurant (I believe). It is that first place you come to just before entering town from the south end. It is on the hiway where the road always floods. It was a chinese restaraunt when we in school. It is a beer and burger joint with a loyal local following. Casual. Legion has been remodeled as I understand and is much nicer than before. Consensus has been that the location will not hamper our fun, the classmates will make any spot work! |

RE: Class of 72 Reunion Posted Friday, February 24, 2012 02:13 PM Mike's place is the "Relief Pitcher". It's a small roadside tavern with very good food. He has a yard area in back that he opens up for large events but If we have as large of a turnout as last time I'm pretty sure we will be in violation of fire codes even being outside!! |
