Andrew McLane - Class Of 1992

Andrew Gregory McLane passed away at the age of 47 after a 5 year bout with cancer. He was a person of unsurpassed integrity, loyalty and determination. A Seattle native, he began a lifelong practice of martial arts in his teens that earned him multiple grades of black belt. He graduated from Franklin High School and made his way to UW where he studied physics. Part of the young career included retail cameras, in part to support his interest in photography; white water river raft guide, which supported his ever present attraction to water, and self study in the realm of computers.

He landed a job with a Seattle firm working on internet hosting and security. He dedicated the remaining years of his career to the job, learning about cyber security, operating systems and maintenance of computer server systems.

Along side his martial arts practices, Andrew was a voracious reader from a young age, often staying up all hours to read. His love for skiing also began at a young age and continued. He enjoyed photography and cameras, particularly landscape photography. And had consistent interest in cars and driving, including attending some racing camps and always keeping an eye out for the next car.
