Jimise Johnson-Wright (Trent) - Class Of 1992

The heavens opened up on March 21, 1974 and sent forth a beautiful princess. Jimise Francessca Johnson Wright Trent descended onto this earth as the daughter of Jimi Wright and Gina Johnson. Born in Seattle, WA she began her educational journey at St. Theresa School. For a time she attended C.K. McClatchy High School in Sacremento, CA, Lakeside High School in Seattle, and graduated from Franklin High School also in Seattle. Jimise graduated from the Univ of Washington with a 3.5 GPA and received her BA in Communications with a concentration in Political Communications in June 2004.

In spite of suffering from sickle-cell crisis and recurrent hospitalization, Jimise lived life to the fullest and never let her suffering prevent her from living life and striving to achieveher full potential. Her activities included; ice-skating, belly dancing, horseback riding, cheerleading, gymnastics, ROTC, track, basketball, parachuting, and shopping with her mother-in-law, Gwen. Her love forpeople and kids eventually led her to the classroom where she taught 7th Grade English.

Jimise's life work promoted a key theme - she wanted to help others realize their true potential and inner beauty. Jimise desired above all that her students, family, friends and community members would believe inthemselves and pass this same belief onto others.

Jimise was at peace and enjoyed having found her soul mate in her husband Lamont. They enjoyed decorating and remodeling their home, a home preserved in family history for more than 50 years, as they prepared for an unborn child - Baby Gracie. At the time of her ascension, Jimise held fast to three key goals: to increase public awareness of sickle cell, enhance the curricula within education, and be a model wife for her husband Lamont.

Jimise and Gracie died on March 31, 2006 and for those who loved her, she will be remembered as a fun loving spirited family woman who loved life. She is survived by her husband, Garland Lamont Trent; mother Gina Johnson; Father Jimi Wright;
