Brian was taken from us so very early in life. He never got to graduate with us. In the summer of 1972, as best as I remember, he was riding home after work one of those summer nights on the 1958 Triumph motorcycle he had been restoring in shop at school. At the corner of NW 130th ST and 3rd AVE NW, less than a mile from his  home, a drunk driver ran the 4 way stop at a high rate of speed hitting Brian from the right side and taking his life away. Brian lived on the next street down from me. As a lot of us, we never accociated other than an occational passing in the halls at school. I have counted that as my loss. I drove thru that intersection many times after that before I moved away from home and I thought about him most every time as I often still do to this day. I saw there was no comments towards Brian so I thought I would share. Brian Harper....Rembered, Not Forgotten. That's what we all desire right?

Roy, thank you for the reminder. Brian's death was a shock. He was a good guy. It was sobering reminder about the value of the life we had to live.

Thanks Roy. Brian was a sweet man. I believe the four-way stop is at 125th and 3rd.

Roy thanks for the memory of Brian. I remember his death shook the entire school. Brian was just a good human being and I think of him from time to time. Glad to hear you are doing well!

It's warming to see the responses as Brian is being remembered. Without my yearbooks it's difficult to match the names with faces but as I scrolled thru the "In Memory" page it was humbling to spend a moment with each one.

You guys are right on the street number being 125th ave. Thanks for helping me on that.

At commencement the choir sang "Brian's Song" to honor Brian. That song still brings tears to my eyes.

At the time a group of friends from school put together some funds and purchased a Magnolia tree to present to his mom to plant as a remembrance.  Over the decades I have often wondered about that Magnolia tree.  I wonder if it survived and, if it did, is it stll there at his old house?  It would be a huge old Magnolia tree by now.
