I didn't know Mr. Truscello very well, but do wish him peace. If I recall correctly, I believe Mr. Truscello wrote, and penned the lyrics for our school Alma Mater. "Newfield High, our Alma Mater, praise to you true hearts proclaim. We who are your sons and daughters proudly voice you honored name. Memories of days spent with you, reaffirm old bonds anew. In our hearts from which these words pour, you shall live forever more." Thanks Mr. Truscello.

You are correct Karl, Mr. Truscillo did write it.  I do remember being in the All County Band and Mr. Truscillo was the band leader.  It was exciting and a little frightening all at once, but he made the experience a bit less intimidating.  He was in fact a cinch after having had Mr. Longo, that man made me very nervous.  Extremely, talented they all were/are but for a kid, in those days, if you couldn't keep up, do the work and have some talent you simply woudn't have been there.  I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.   Thanks to all of those tough teachers who pushed us to be better than we imagined we could ever be.
