As I recall, George died of a heart attack at the age of 23. He was in the army at the time, and left behind a wife and young daughter.
He lived diagonally across the street from me, on Colony Drive in Port Jeff Station. I remember that he would mow lawns in the neighborhood to earn spending money in high school.
