Arlie "Sonny" Hicks

Arlie "Sonny" Hicks was born September 8, 1947 in Selmer, TN the son of the late Arlie Cecil Hicks and Lessie Mae Murphy Hicks. 

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Virginia Keen on November 28, 1974. He was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee and the Masonic Lodge in Selmer, TN. He retired from General Electric after 30 years of service. He coached Pee-Wee Football for 7 years. 

A man of diverse interests, he found joy in activities such as playing golf and traveling. However, what truly brought him the greatest happiness was being surrounded by loved ones. He cherished each moment spent together with them.

Arlie will always be remembered for his warm and welcoming spirit. His infectious smile brightened the lives of those around him, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mr. Hicks departed this life on September 8, 2023 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hicks of Selmer, TN; two sons, Rusty Hicks and wife Wendy of Selmer, TN, Ryan Hicks and companion Sara of Middleton, TN; a grandson, Noah Hicks; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Carroll.
