Obituary for Mrs. Carolyn Merck Dickard

Carolyn Elizabeth Merck Dickard, 65, of Walhalla, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, Easter Sunday, at her home with her loving family by her side. Carolyn passed away due to complications brought on from a long and brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease. 

Carolyn was born in Seneca, SC, and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Edna Merck. Carolyn was a Christian and a very special lady who never complained about her health diagnosis. She accepted it with grace and a sweet spirit. She kept a positive outlook and was grateful for every day. Carolyn loved being a country girl and living on a farm with Ricky for forty years. She will be dearly missed. 

Surviving is her husband, Charles Richard “Ricky” Dickard; a son: Joey (Kristy); and one gracious grandson: Hunter Milton Dickard; all of Walhalla, SC. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers; Debbie Karns (John), Cindy Bond (Jerry), Mike Merck (Teresa) and Steve Merck (Linda); along with several nieces and nephews. 

The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of Prisma Health Hospice of the Foothills for their care and love of Carolyn.
