Sonya and I were really good friends in High school, but I really got to know her and her family about a year after graduating from high school. We car pooled to Tri-County Tech and she always talked about moving to Atlanta and becoming a model. I feel blessed to have known her.

A TRIBUTE TO SONYA

Sonya and I grew up in the church together, St. Paul Baptist Church, Fairplay, SC. We went to church together, school together, and worked together in the same department in the Business Office at Oconee Memorial Hospital. Through all of that, we never had a disagreement. She was one of my best friends and I still tear up when I think about her being gone. I'll never forget that dreary, dreadful, rainy Sunday morning on April 25 (my best friend, Debra's birthday) when we received the call that Sonya had died in a car accident.

Sonya was a beautiful person inside as well as outside. She was one who thought about others rather than herself. She could have been a self-consumed person being that she was so "beautiful" -- but she wasn't that way.

As I stated, I still struggle with the fact that she is no longer with us on this earth but I am comforted by knowing that God needed her more in heaven than we did on earth.

SONYA, rest in peace, we'll see you again one day in heaven.

Your friend,

(Sandra)

Sonya had a peaceful spirit that made her outward appearance even more beautiful.

Sonya and I use to play together when we were small kids when I visited my father. She was a very kind spirit and we always had great times together. She has been missed tremendously since she left.
