Born in Decatur, AL and raised in Seneca, SC, Mr. Childress was the son of Olin and Betty Rogers Childress of Seneca, SC. Mr. Childress was a pipefitter and worked in construction. He had been an avid motorcycle rider. In addition to his parents, Mr. Childress is survived by brothers, Gary Childress (Kellie) of Seneca, and Tom Childress (Lisa) of Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Nancy Barnes (Keith) of Seneca; nephews, Josh, Trey, Joseph, Michael, and Kristopher Childress, and David Barnes; nieces, Paula and Amy Childress, and Taylor Adair; one great niece; and three great nephews. Private graveside services will be held. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Townville Baptist Church with visitation following the servcie. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3535 Pelham Road, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at their respective homes.
