Mark,Was not only a class mate,a neighbor,my best friend and buddy. He was also,my fishing and hunting buddy, you seen one and the other wasn't far behind. He lost his life at the hands of a drunk driver,if only he hadn't gotten in,with him.God bless you brother.
I was on the other side of the creek, Bishop Heights. We used to wage war with Mark and Rhonda, Mark had the biggest blue eyes I have ever seen and I punched him in the face once when we were little kids. Sorry Mark, I secretly loved you.
I was in the car behing Mark and Jimmy when Jimmy hit the tree. Didn't see the accident, but arrived within seconds. I tried helping Mark, but he had already passed and Jimmy.....although thrown through the windshield, was remarkably unhurt other than a few scratches. Mark was not only a classmate, he was always a good friend. I had not seen him for several years until that night. I sure miss him and am grateful to have been his friend. That was a horrible night that changed me forever.
Thanks for sharing that Teddy...that night had to have been hard. Mark was a great guy. Like I said earlier, and also Duane and Donna stated, we were in the same neighborhood. We had lots of fun around the neighborhood back then. I don't know that kids these days have the kind of fun we did...no computers, no cable TV...just fun playing outside until after dark.
Doris Heights was the coolest neighborhood to grow up in. Great neighbors, a creek and woods to play in, and we never heard of leashes for dogs. Miss you Mark.
Mark always seemed to sit behind me in classes, and picked at me constantly. I would turn around and want to act like I was mad, but there he was...those blue eyes and giant smile and I couldn't help but laugh. He was a true friend, and someone I'll always remember.

Like Duane, Mark was a neighbor of mine as well. We had some good times in the old Doris Heights days. I think of him often.Donna Perry (Dineen) (1981)
