SENECA — A 44-year-old Seneca man is dead after losing control of his vehicle Sunday night (4/26/09) on Shiloh Road east of Seneca while on his way to visit his girlfriend.

Donnie Ray Campbell was driving his Ford F-150 pickup truck on Shiloh Road at 9:25 p.m. Sunday when his vehicle ran off the right side of the road near the intersection of Airline Road, adjacent to the Oconee Regional Airport, Coroner Karl Addis said.

The vehicle came back across the two-lane highway and overturned onto the airport property, striking a chain link fence.

During the rollover, a portion of the metal fence posting burst through the windshield of the vehicle and penetrated Campbell’s lower chest and abdomen. He died at the scene.
