Micah Richardson - Class of 1986

Micah died February 15, 2007 at the age of 38 of heart failure. He is survived his three beautiful boys and his wife.
Micah Richardson was the kind of buddy that I knew I could always depend on. He has helped me in so many situations. He was a strong person that did not let anyone ever walk over him. He was funny and caring and was a great Dad to his 3 boys. He and I had many great memories in Korea as well as San Antonio. He was a great mechanic and was very knowledgeable in many things. He had so much energy and was always on the go. My heart is broken by his departure. I have truly lost a great friend.

I'm saddened to hear this.Micah and I worked as summer hires at the hospital mess hall in the summer of '85. He was probably 15 and I was 13. I was a nerd, and remember being intimidated by him and his larger than life personality and well muscled physique. I learned real quick that his heart was his biggest body part.
I asked him once how he got all those muscles, and I remember him taking me to Collier Field House every day after work, and teaching me to lift weights. 12 years later, I would place 4th in the world in bodybuilding at the World Games in Finland. Micah's act of kindness that summer of '85 changed my life.

Micah was a character to say the least. His crazy antics and youthful vigor always kept us laughing, and I never knew what to expect from him, but it was going to be funny. Missed lifting weights with him, he was my motivation. RIP brother.

Micah's heart might have failed in the physical sense, but it was as strong as can be in the spiritual sense. Truely one of the nicest human beings I have had the privilege of meeting and knowing. I remember listening to Jimi Hendrix with Micah and him playing "Castles Made of Sand" and then him playing it on his guitar. Blew me away. We jammed together a few more times after that. Like a great many people, I have the honor of Micah calling me friend. You are missed, and will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who knew you.
