I attended SAHS 1984-1986 (8th and 9th grades) and saw alot of the beautiful country of Korea with my family, had many amazing experiences, some memories I treasure, and some I'm not so proud of.
After Korea, I attended Carthage Central High School in Carthage, NY and graduated in '89, right after my dad retired from the Army at Ft. Drum. Moved to Silverton, Oregon with my parents and my high school sweetheart, got engaged, attended Chemeketa Community College, and George Fox University...learned Gods plans were not the same as mine...broke off engagement.
(1993)Two years later I married my hubby Jeff, (Gods plan!) and have been a stay at home mom to our four wonderful children. I've learned alot about the joy and pain that comes with being a mom. Learning that our daughter was born profoundly deaf, and realizing that she would never "hear" me say 'I love you' broke my heart.
Learning Sign Language, learning about Deaf Culture, accepting that God has given doctors and scientists this amazing knowledge to create and program Cochlear Implants that have allowed my daughter to hear (and choosing to go forward with two CI surgeries for her 2000 and 2008), AND hearing her say "I Love You too" has overflowed my heart with joy!
For the past 3 years I've been working part time & subbing, as an Instructional Assistant and 1:1 for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children at the school my children attend. What a joy!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
