In Memory

Tony Olmstead - Class of 1990

Tony died of an aortic aneurysm which is when the large artery coming out of the heart bulges and then breaks, flooding the area around the heart with blood and causing the heart to stop. It is sudden and Tony did not suffer. Death was immediate. The doctor said that even if it had happened in the hospital, they could not have saved him.

Tony Olmstead is one of the smartest people I've known since I was a small child. He was smart, quiet and made people happy in his own friendly way. He has graduated in 1990 and was quite brilliant without anyone knowing his true potential. May Tony rest in peace and his children receive many blessings.

I remember Tony, Bill Moe as well as Leron. We all did our little stint in ROTC. I don't remember too many conversations or interactions with Tony, but I do remember the quiet, intelligent and friendly personality. One of those guys I wish I could have spent more time knowing now that I look back. I might remember some good times at the Mondu House or Gate 19, I'm sure we all do. :)

Rest in peace my friend.

It was very sad to hear of Tony's passing considering how close his father is to mine. I knew Tony as a very sweet, gentle person who deserved more credit and acknowledgement than he received in High School. I often talked to Tony in Geometry class and really thought he was a very genuine person who was caring. His quiet demeanor is probably what kept most people from knowing truly what a wonderful person he was. My condolences to his family and best wishes for his children. My heart aches for Tony and his family's loss.
