Willard "Don" Richardson - Class of 1964
At the age of 23, Don was killed in Vietnam. He was a First Lieutenant, helicopter pilot with the 101st Airborne Division when his Huey went down on 8/21/1969 near the town of Thua Thien. Don was born on 30 April 1946 and hailed from Memphis, TN. You can find his name on the Vietnam War Memorial, Panel 19W - Line 90.

I remember Don's broad and winsome smile. To me, he will always be the teenager who loved my sister in our Korea days, continuing to demonstrate courage and integrity as he matured into young adulthood. He was killed when, only days before his return to the States, he volunteered to rescue some soldiers by helicopter.
