Jana Stone (McCool) (1973)

Edwina Stone Burks was not only a great teacher, but the best mother in the world.  I had never had my mother for a teacher until we went to Korea.  She taught me earth science, a science that I hated.  Didn't want to study rocks and the layers of the earth, I was a live science person.  But Mom made the boring science very interesting (although I think she was harder on me than the other students).  When we returned home from Korea, Mom continued to teach.  She became one of the first women in the State of Alabama to become a high school principal.  She remained principal for about 15 years before retiring.  Mom enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and fishing.  Mom you are missed.
