LaVern Frantzich

We are deeply saddened to be sending everyone this notice on Christmas Eve. On December 16, 2005 LaVern Frantzich departed this life.

LaVern was born October 11, 1928 in Choteau, Montana, to Earl and Hilda Bjornson Carlson. He married Virigina Mueller on March 21, 1954. A graduate of Dutton High School, he received a bachelor's degree from Western Montana State University and a master's degree from the University of Wyoming. He served in the Army in military intelligence during the Korean War, stationed in Japan. Starting in 1960, he taught high school in Montana, Oregon, and South Korea, until his retirement in 1993. He had lived in Eugene since then.

Survivors include a son, Glenn Frantzich, and a daughter, Gail Hitchcock; four brothers, Leslie Carlson, Earl Carlson, Charles Frantzich, and Russell Frantzich; two sisters, Violet Hills and Joan Wheeler; seven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 28, at Musgrove Family Mortuary from 10:00am - 3:00pm followed by memorial service at 3:00pm (1152 Olive Rd. Eugene.) After the service a reception will be held at Veteran's Memorial Association (1626 Willamette, Eugene). Burial will be preformed in the summer of 2006 at Mountain View Cemetery, Ronan, Montana.

LaVern a father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather will be greatly missed.
