Kathleen Barbee (Herzog)

Kathleen Barbee-Herzog 47, changed her address to heaven on Friday, July 2, 2010 after a two year battle with cancer, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kathleen was born February 8, 1963 to Thelbert Barbee and Lottie Burns in Union City, TN. Kathleen played basketball at Fisk University from 1982 until 1986 when she graduated. She received her Master's Degree at National Lewis University in 1993. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority & / Phi Beta Kappa Service Public Sorority. She got her PHD at Walden University in 2003. She married Lonny P. Herzog on July 19, 2005 in Las Vegas Nevada. Kathleen was an educational leader, her most recent position was at Sierra High School in Colorado Springs. Her educational philosophy has always been "It takes a village to raise a child" and "Children First". She has been in education / administration in Germany, Virginia, Korea and Colorado. Her hobbies include golf, traveling, cooking and reading. She is survived by her husband, Lonny P. Herzog, her children, Ethan, Brieanne and Jaden, her siblings, Teresa Barbee and Thelberstine Buford. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thelbert and Lottie Barbee and her sister, Martha Dowell. Services will be held on Saturday, July 10th at Union City High School at 1:00 pm. There will be a reception after the Memorial Service.

Michelle Pell

What an exceptional administrator and outstanding woman she was.  I was honored to work with her.  She made a huge impact in the short time she was at SAHS.
