In Memory

Al Goldstein - Class of 1972

Shared by Al's sister, Sarah, June 26, 2012.

Al was born in Korea in 1954. He went to Seoul American Elementary and then Seoul American High School until the the 9th grade. He went to Israel to finish High School, living in a kibbutz in Northern Israel. Once he graduated he moved to New York, as our family had moved there. He decided to join the US Army which placed him back in Seoul. After military service he moved back to New York and joined the family business. He studied to became a diamond cutter and mastered the craft. He was a curious kid and adult, this made him adventurious and at times, rebellious. He loved life, adventure and embraced anything new and different. He loved to study philosphy and the Torah. He was a special soul with insight and a warm heart. He had the keen ability to be objective when giving advice and never, ever judgmental. Unfortunately he was taken from us too early at the age of 44 from a heart attack. We miss him dearly and he is forever in our thoughts and hearts.

So sorry to read of Al's passing. He and I used to pal around together in the mid 60's (65-69) along with brother Sam. We spent the night at each other's houses (I also lived on the economy) and mangaed to find our way into occasional (innocent) trouble. Good times, those were.

What ever became of Sam?
