Sean Lowman - Class of 1994

Sean Calvin Lowman, born May 30, 1975, in Leavenworth, Kan., passed away Jan. 12, 2007, in Helena. Sean moved around the world with his military family, graduating from Seoul American High School in Seoul, South Korea, in 1994. He attended The University of South Alabama in Mobile. In 1996, he left school to follow his passion in the Culinary Arts industry. He started working for Ruby Tuesday’s and became the general manager in Niceville, Fla. In 2004, he started with Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and in 2005 he achieved his dream of becoming the owner of the Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Birmingham, where he treated his staff as his second family, in both thoughts and actions.

Sean was very involved in his community, including several charitable organizations, churches and schools, including his girls’ preschool, Christ Kids Pre-School. Sean was preceded in death his father, David P. Lowman; two grandmothers, Kathleen Turner and Edna Vaughn, and aunt, Jackie Vaughn.
Survivors include his wife, Gretchen Lowman; two daughters, Olivia and Hayden Lowman; parents, Ronnie J. and Dianna Tucker, of Huntsville; one brother, David Lowman II and his wife, Shelley, of Harvest; sister, Jillian Tucker of Huntsville; grandfather, Ray Vaughn of Georgetown, Ohio; mother in-law and father-in-law, C.D. and Linda Tripp of Decatur; two sisters-in-law, Rachel Wylie of Hartselle, and Erin Tripp of Durham, N.C.; one niece, Jessa Wylie of Hartselle; two nephews, Luke Wylie of Hartselle, and David Lowman III of Seattle; his special aunt and uncle, Maggie and Ernie Guenther of Bethel, Ohio; and countless other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
