Through Facebook I recently found out that Holly Appolloni Krupa (Bellaire High School 1988) is in a battle for her life with breast cancer, she is married to Bob Krupa & the mother to their 4 year old daughter. . .  some friends are having a benefit for her/the family in august.  below is an "FYI" post about the benefit & what help is needed.

I would like to suggest that we take a collection from our classmates to donate.  If interested please email me.  xo-Lisa

I realize that some of you don’t know Holly, aren’t local, and won’t be coming to the benefit. Thank you so much for joining our group anyway. Your prayers are appreciated! This message is for people that have asked what they can do to help with the benefit. There are so many of you and I appreciate that! It’s just easier for me to post this message to all group members. Committee members will be forwarding this message on to their friends who are not on Face Book. Feel free to forward yourself if you know someone who would like to help.
Many of you have asked if there is anything you can do to help with the benefit. There is. There are actually several things we need help with. First of all, the raffles—we will be auctioning off theme baskets, tubs of stuff, gift cards, and craft donations. We need people to donate this stuff. It can get pricey for one person to do a whole basket. Maybe a group of friends can go together or you can ask co-workers to contribute. For example, my library is doing a “Mr. Clean basket.” Whoever wants to contribute can bring in something like a mop, a bottle of dish detergent, Windex, etc. I’ll put all this stuff in a tub and then we raffle it off. Listed below are some basket theme ideas. If there is a name next to the basket, it is already being taken care of.
Hair products (Kim Delvecchio)
Nail care products (Kim Delvecchio)
WVU basket (Tiffany Redman)
Wine lovers basket (Barbara Smarrella)
OSU basket
Steelers basket
Browns basket
Gardening basket
Newborn baby girl basket
Newborn baby boy basket
Crayola basket (kid’s art supplies)
holiday décor basket (4th of July, Halloween, Christmas, etc —some maybe hard to find in the summer)
Pet care basket
Car care basket
Chocolate lovers basket
Coffee lovers basket
Tea lovers basket
Barbie basket
Hot wheels basket (cars, etc for little boys)
Candle basket
Mr. Clean Basket (Schiappa Library)
Scratch off lottery ticket basket
Homemade Afghan (Carla Riley)
Mary Kay basket (Kim Stillion)
Avon Basket (Kim Stillion)
Autographed Brad Paisley CD and T-shirt (Kari Stillion)
Longaberger Picnic Basket (Kari Stillion)
Tupperware basket (Kari Stillion)
Free passes to Powerline Park (Tabitha McAtee)
These are some ideas from members of the committee. You may have better ones! Feel free to come up with your own theme. Please just Facebook or e-mail me jamteasdale@hotmail.com to let me know if you’d like to be responsible for a basket. If you are part of the Face Book “Pray for Holly Appolloni Krupa group” please post your basket choice to the wall so nobody else picks it.
*We are also collecting donations like gift cards, craft items, etc. to raffle off so we need those too.
We need all raffle donations by July 15th. If you can get your donation to someone on the committee great! If not, contact one of us and we will pick it up. Here is a list of committee members and contact info for each:
Misty Teasdale-740 671-0080 jamteasdale@hotmail.com
Kim Delvecchio kimberdel@yahoo.com
Greg Hinds- 676-3287
Karen Call- 676-4035
Kari Stillion karistillion@comcast.net
Kim Stillion kstillion@DWC.org
Tabitha McAtee -dixie8mack@hotmail.com
Kim Appolloni- kimappolloni@yahoo.com
*We also need people to volunteer to bring the desserts. Let me know if we can count on you for that.
*The day of the benefit, we’ll need help in the kitchen and help with clean up.
Thank you all so much and please don’t forget to include Holly in your prayers.
Misty

Here is the "story" as told by one of holly's friends. . .

Holly Appolloni Krupa is from West Bellaire. She is a 1988 graduate of Bellaire High School. She is my oldest friend and the strongest person I know. In April of 2005, Holly was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer. The most tragic thing is that this diagnosis came when her beautiful daughter Alexis was less than one year old. As if being a new mom isn’t stressful enough! Since that time, Holly has been in the fight of her life. I realize it takes a strong person to battle cancer but I am truly amazed and humbled by the dignity and grace that Holly has shown throughout her battle. There have been times when her whole world seemed to be crumbling around her, yet she always managed a smile and a positive attitude. I came across a quote that reminds me of her. “It's not the load that breaks you down, it's the way you carry it.” Deep, isn’t it? Lena Horne said that. Anyhow, our Holly decided that cancer was not going to break her down. She came out swinging! She has carried this terrible burden for four years now. Unfortunately, one person can only take so much. Holly’s doctors have recently told her that she could have less than 6 months to live. She is not giving up. She will continue treatment and do whatever else she can to prolong her life. However, she is preparing for the worst. She needs as much support as she can get. So this group is a reminder to pray for her. It is also a place where you can post pictures, share memories, and send her messages. Holly does not have a whole lot of time for facebooking, but I will make sure she gets your messages and sees anything you would like to contribute to the group. I’ll also be able to keep you updated on her condition and anything else that is going on. There will be a benefit for Holly at the Forest Hills Community Center in August. I will post more information about this at a later date.
Last night, Jason and I went through old pictures. I found a lot of good ones (oh the 80’s hair!) to post and will do so as soon as I can.
Thanks and God Bless!
Misty

Ralph and I attended Holly Krupa's benefit in 2005.    She is a super nice person and Bob seems to be handling all of this again...   theri daughter,Alexis,is supposed to be in my kindergarten class in the Fall.

I think LLL has a good idea and we should sponsor a basket (maybe a Shadyside theme) for her benefit on August 15th.
