When my parents moved into the Ludlow area in1960 we became part of "the" social experiment in integration. There were the subtleties inherent to my(our) matriculation. The times were changing...
Participating in student council/government became my vehicle for overcoming my shyness (and soft voice) and understanding the process of activism. In the ninth grade at Woodbury I ran for Student Council president. Candy Godbold,my campaign manager, and Mr Krabil,my teacher sponser supported me. I lost to Jordan Thomas, a new student from California. He and I had the opportunity to shake hands again at the 30th reunion.
Today I am passionate about urban food production and distribution. Community gardens, kitchen gardens, local food markets are on the rise. Say NO to fast foods! Cook whole fresh and seasonal foods. Fast foods won't make a healthy life. Blue Pike Farm ,a CSA, off St Clair is a beacon of light to reimagining our inner cities. For those of you in Cleveland check out this urban pioneer. Also visit the web site.please.
