Gale Josephine Wursthorn

 

On Friday, August 16, 2019 we lost a dear friend. Gale was preceded in death by her parents John and Mabel and her two brothers. Gale was born in Cleveland,Ohio on February 15, 1940. Gale lived life to the fullest. She is a graduate from Shaker Heights High School and Elmira College.

Gale joined the Navy on November 16, 1961. She was honorably discharged with a National Defense Medal and Navy Good Conduct Metal on February 1, 1967. While in service for the Vietnam War she was a journalist.

Gale loved and was loved by many friends and considered some as her close family. She considered Zachary Adams as her Grandson. Allen and Julie Fredrickson purchased her Grandparents house where she had spent some of her happiest days. She continued to the enjoy spending time there with Allen, Julie and their children and considered them family. She was a positive influence on her community and everyone around her. She loved camping, driving her 1955 Packard Clipper and being involved with the American Legion and the VFW. Gale felt honored to be able to play her trumpet for Military services. She also loved going to reunions for Elmira College and Her Bainbridge Wave Veterans.

She will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio with a full Military service on Friday, September 13th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local VFW. She will be missed by all.
