Sadly to report the passing of classmate Jeff Perlmuter.

When I moved to Shaker Heights, in the middle of first grade, Jeff Perlmuter, who lived a few doors away on Fairmount Blvd., walked me to the bus stop on my first day of Mercer School.

He battled cancer for several years.

Our class will make a donation to our  Shaker Foundation fund in his memory.

RIP, Jeff.

So sad to hear of Jeff's passing. He was a good guy, a point underscored by Bonnie's memory of him walking her to the bus stop.

I remember Jeff, well. Would cross paths with him in the hallways of Shaker between bells. He would shake my hand, on athletic achievements, with added suggestions on how to improve. Great guy.

Jeff was one of my oldest friends.  We both took the same the same bus to Mercer and Byron, and car pooled to Shaker along with the late, but not forgotten Neil Zimmerman.

Jeff was a kind hearted and loyal friend. He loved his family, golf and the Cleveland sports teams; although he also loved criticizing those same teams (for good reason I might add). Jeff battled his health problems without complaining and maintained his sharp and dry wit until the end. It is so sad that he passed at such a young age.

My sincerest condolences to his entire family.

Jeff and I spent a lot of time together during high school and he was a good person and a good friend.  Although I hadn't spoken to him in a long time, which I now regret, I feel a great loss on his passing.

My sincere condolences to his family.

Funny and wierd how a passing like this jogs a memory...my memory is that Jeff P was one of the 5 Jeff's in Mrs. Brack's 5th Grade class at Mercer. Now my father used to say "Jeff, if there were 2 of you, the world would come to and end!"...so, one can imagine how 5 of us Jeff's impacted Mrs. Brack...

Rounding out the Jeff's were Jeff Guyton, Jeff Thompson and Jeff Angelone. Don't ask me how or why Jeff's passing triggered this memory, but I remained freindly with Jeff throughout Jr. and Sr. High. He was a great Jeff...RIP my friend.
