Many people have been asking details about how and when the classmates listed here died. In some cases, people were not even aware that a particular person listed had passed away.

If you were close to one of them, please click "Post Response" and let others know some of the details. If you have a personal story about one of those listed, please consider sharing it with the rest of the class.

Mr. Hobday asked me to write something and I have been meaning to put something on this page, but life gets busy. It moves fast too. As I write this, the reunion is two days away.

Pepe. The name says it all. He was only with us for a year, but who could forget him? He was so full of life. So out there. So, well, "Pepe." When I heard about his passing, I was stunned. Even though I only knew him for a year and hadn't seen him in many years, I felt loss...emptiness. Someone so full of life gone in an instant.

Pepe, Cathy Pistulka and I occupied the bandroom for our "study hall" during senior year. Not much studying got done. Pepe and I tried to outdo each other by making Cathy bust out in that classic giggle of hers. Sadly, I could never keep up with the crazy Finn.

I remember saying goodbye to Pepe at the airport after graduation. I was convinced that it wouldn't be the last time I saw him. Sadly, it was.

The first few reunions, I would often hope that Pepe would show up. Pepe as an adult. Pepe as a father or husband. I suspect he would still be the Pepe we knew and loved. Unfortunately, that never happened.

Reunions are about celebrating old friendships. Sadly, they are also about remembering those who are not with us any more. That includes our very own foreign exchange student, Pepe.

Life moves fast and we all get busy. While we remember who is gone, let us treasure those who are still with us.

I think Pepe, Al, Mike, and Paul would want that.
