Ron & I were teammates for a number of years on the Amos Family baseball team. Ron’s father Mr. Cornelius was the team’s manager for several seasons and his mother would be with us in the team‘s dugout keeping score of all our games. Ron was our tough little second baseman through the years.
About two years ago I received a message from Ron’s cousin, she informed me of the sad news of Ron’s passing. She informed me that Ron was a veteran, SSGT in the U.S. Army and severed in the Persian Gulf in 1991. Shortly after returning from the gulf, Ron became sick from the effects of the war, known as Persian Gulf Syndrome.
