Michael Lynn Rand, 67, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022 in Crystal Health and Rehabilitation, Tavernier, Monroe County, Florida after a long illness. He was born on November 9, 1954 to James H. and Beverly Joan (Bath) Rand, Jr. in Kansas City, Kansas. He spent his childhood in Merriam, KS until 1973 when he enlisted in the Navy; he was stationed in Philadelphia, PA. After the service, Mike moved to the Florida Keys and spent the remainder of his life, loving the sand and the beach and his many friends there, working in construction. Mike is survived by his son, Shaun Rand and grandson, Aiden; his sister, Vicki Bisby, 3 brothers: Kevin, Barry and Trent Rand and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank his longtime friends, J.P. and Patrick, who stuck by his side and provided care during Mike’s last months of life.
