If you remember Debbie, she must have been your friend. She was always the quiet one...very shy and reserved. She had a heart for those that many would refer to as the "underdogs" of the world. She was always the helper to anyone who asked.
We didn't know (even as her sister) until she discovered the cancer how amazingly strong she was. She endured more in the five years she battled this horrible thing than most of us do in our lifetimes. She was a fighter and she was still fighting to the last minute of her life.
When we were all younger, I used to get so frustrated with her because she'd never speak up for herself...never fight back...just take what was given her. I viewed that as weakness...I was so wrong. She was an amazing person and I loved her and miss her very much.
