Sandy Wicken (Campbell) (1976)

Dave lived in Kotzeube, Alaska, which is in the arctic circle. He was married to Eva Wicken and had 2 children, Douglas and Trisha.  He loved life in Alaska and enjoyed hunting and fishing most of all.  He was the best brother and I miss him so very much.  We used to talk on the phone every day....to this day I think... I need to call Dave.

He had a very rare form of cancer and fought it for 7 years, he never gave up.  One year he even put a new roof on his house when he was so disabled he was in a wheelchair.  He pulled himself up the ladder and his son helped him get the roofing shingles up there...that was his attitude towards life and the horrible disease he had...he always said "Never give up"

His sister,

Sandy

I didn't really know Dave, but after reading what Sandy wrote about him, I think I must have missed out on a really special person.  Hugs to you Sandy, and all of Dave's family.

Karen Lizakowski (Johnson) (1978)

I met Dave before Kindergarten when Gramma caught him peeing in our backyard, haha.

He was in my Kindergarten class and many more. I cherish the little class picture he gave me of himself in gradeschool, on the back he wrote "Betcha can't wait till January." We have the same Birthdate and shared parties at the Swimming Pool & Skating Rink.

He followed Brad & I up to the Arctic where he married Eva (a Inupiat Eskimo) and made a Beautiful Family. His first born Douglas (named after Dave's Dad) was born on our birthday January 20th. Then came Beautiful Trisha :o)

Dave never missed out camping/hunting/fishing or any outdoor activity. Even when paralized & had to be picked up & placed into our airplane.

But Most Rememberable... Dave's Smile.

Love and Miss You Dave!

Karen
